“Since you love poetry, my darling, I am giving you this book that has never left my side.”

It was a ragged school edition, on which was printed, “Arthur Rimbaud—Poetry.”

“Arthur Rimbaud is the greatest poet of all time,” she said. “He was born in the French Ardennes, not far from here.”
